2020 THE GREENLAND EXPEDITION
COURSE DATE: 08/04/20- 22/04/20 PRICE: £6680.00 GROUP SIZE: 6
1st descents, summits, steeps, couloirs, wide open faces, winter camping, wilderness lodges, dogsled, fast boast, sea ice, Northern lights… this is the Splitboard adventure of a lifetime!
This will be our 4th BC Voyager Greenland expedition to the East Coast of Greenland and our 2nd to deep mountainous and ice laden fjords to the North of the Inuit village of Kulusuk.
For this trip we will fly from Reykjavik (Iceland) to Kulusuk (Greenland), where we will acclimatize ourselves to the local environment, staying a few nights in the Nanoq expedition Lodge whilst accessing and exploring the local glaciers and peaks.
After the first few days we will journey down the sea ice by dogsled to access the location of our first Arctic camp where we will spend the next part of the trip exploring, climbing and riding the countless summits and descents surrounding the camp.
We will then cross over the mountains and descend to a rendez-vous with the boats, which will take us across the Fjord and even deeper into the range. The boast will drop us at the edge of the sea ice from where we will Split upwards following the glacier to the site of our final Camp. From our Final camp we will explore and ride the endless possibilities that surround us. The terrain in this region is very Alpine with high rocky peaks, wide open faces, steep narrow couloirs and beautiful spines a plenty.
At then edn of the trip we will make a final descent to rendez-vous with the boats which will take us back to where our journey began and a final night at the Nanoq Lodge before our flights back to Iceland the following day.
Please note: For the majority of the trip we will be living and riding in remote locations, operating without any outside assistance and conditions can be very changeable with the possibility of severe storms, strong winds and cold temperatures.
