McNab Snowboarding Freeride and Backcountry Courses are both physically and Technically demanding. In order for you to be able to participate fully and get the most out of your chosen course we ask that you meet the prerequisites for that course.

Each course requires that you have a good level of fitness and the recommended level of experience or expertise (guidelines to these levels can be found below).

FITNESS & ABILITY
Technical ability levels are scored on a scale ‍of 1 to 6 where 1 is a beginner with little or no experience (up to 3 days) and 6 is someone very experienced and able to perform at the highest level, anywhere on the mountain. A 4 on the ability scale might represent a rider with at least 5 or 6 weeks riding experience.

Fitness is also graded on a scale of 1 to 6 where 1 is a person with a very basic fitness level and 6 represents someone with a very high level of fitness.

If you have any questions as to your ability or as to which course might be for you please don’t hesitate to contact us by phone or e-mail.

PLEASE NOTE
For safety reasons ‘Riders unable to meet the required criteria for their chosen course may be unable to complete that course at the discretion of the course leader’.
