The little known Freeride mecca of Valloire is found in the depths of the Maurienne valley below the mighty ‘col du Galibier’, made famous as one of the toughest climbs of the ‘Tour de France’. With the white cloak of Winter snows the peaks and valleys surrounding the Galibier offer an endless canvas of untracked terrain just waiting to be explored. This NEW BC Freeride course is your opportunity to come and join me in exploring this incredible landscape.

“The BC Freeride course guides you further and faster into the world of  Big Mountain Freeriding than ever before.”

My Backcountry Freeride Course is designed for those that have tasted the future of Backcountry riding and Backcountry Splitboarding and now simply need more!

This NEW Backcountry Freeride Course in Valloire is all about exploring the Backcountry treasures found amongst the high peaks of the little known Freeride Mecca of Valloire.

The BC Freeride course is one of my favourite Courses to Guide as it is quite simply about getting out amongst the Peaks in search of the best conditions and the biggest descents whilst exploring new locations and mountain ranges with an enthusiastic ‘like minded’ crew of riders.

I’ve been meaning to run a course in Valloire for years after cycling through the region and tackling the Galibier during the summer months and being amazed at the terrain and peaks crowning this valley. Each time I passed over this mighty Col, I would look around at the surrounding terrain and mind surf its flanks, overawed at the possibilities that the winter snows must provide here.

With an eco emphasis on exloring nearer to home rather than flying around the globe, I felt that the time is right to visit some of the regions that I have yet to explore in the easily accessible French Alps and Valloire was pretty much top of my list.

With the emphasis, as always on mountain safety, the Backcountry Freeride Course will help you further increase your awareness for the high mountains and develop your ability and confidence to tour, climb and ride amongst them.

For those that have caught the Backcountry bug and now want to take it to the next level, this is it!
